St Peter’s, Ryan qualify for football quarter-finals
Chandigarh, October 21 St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, scored another big win in their pool B programme. They handed out a 6-0 drubbing to St Xavier’s, Sector 44. The highlight of the match was a brilliant display by Waris Rashid, who scored three goals. He scored in the first, seventh and eighth minute. St Stephen’s School got their other goals through Karan, Sonu and Jaideep. The quarter-final line-up is: St Peter’s vs Mount Carmel; St Stephen’s vs St John’s; St Soldier’s International vs St Kabir and Shivalik Public School vs Ryan International. St Kabir School, Sector 26, and Ryan International, Sector 49, performed well in their last group D fixture. St Kabir just managed to eke out a solitary goal win. The all-important goal was scored by Manraj. St Kabir with two wins topped their pool. Ryan, with one win and one defeat, finished runners-up. Both teams qualified for quarter-finals. St Peter’s finished their group A league programme with two wins. Today they defeated St John’s School, Sector 26, by a solitary goal scored by Ayush Ganjoo in the 36th minute. St John’s with three points from two outings finished the group as runners-up. It was a do-or-die battle for St Soldier’s International, Sector 28, and Little Flowers in the pool C. The match ended in a goalless draw which paved the way for St Soldier’s to sneak into the quarter-final on the basis of better goal average. Both teams had one point each at the end of their league programme. Shivalik School, with both wins in Pool C, topped with six points. |
Sale of ODI tickets advanced
Chandigarh, October 21 He further said the PCA had nominated HDFC Bank as its official bankers for the match. The bank will also be selling the tickets for the match in its branches at Sector 37 and Sector 46 in Chandigarh and Phase-7 in Mohali in addition to the PCA counter at the stadium itself. The tickets will be sold from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. |

All roads, under the changed jurisdiction plan, include those which constitute the main system of road transportation and provide linkage with the national highway, important towns of other states and tourist centres. These are bearers of medium and heavy traffic and are major carrier of road traffic within the city. The network also acts as linkage between rural areas and urban. These all have been declared as State Highways. |
