Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region. Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures changed little. Departure: This was above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.7°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures changed little. Departure: This was above normal in east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 15.8°C recorded at Ambala (Haryana) and Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 20: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
