Start procurement, say farmers
Our Correspondent

Mandi Ahmedgarh, October 9
Local farmers have urged the Chief Minister to impress upon the Food Corporation of India (FCI) authorities for starting procurement at the Kalsian purchase centre.
Led by Mr Nirmal Singh, sarpanch, Kalsian, the farmers alleged that the officials were harassing the farmers on one pretext or the other.

“Though the state agencies have started procurement at most of the grain markets and purchase centers, FCI officials have rejected the similar quality of paddy arbitrarily. Instead of using specified equipment for knowing the moisture content and foreign matter they depend upon their own judgment, which had delayed the procurement,” said the farmers.
