Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, September 26
Dr K.S. Aulakh, Vice-Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University, today clarified in a press note that the two employees of the PAU who broke their indefinite fast had done so unconditionally after agreeing to submit their replies to the show-cause notices issued to them earlier.

So far both employees — Mr Sat Pal Sharma and Mr R.S. Arora — have refused to submit the replies to the show-cause notices issued to them for alleged violation of discipline. Dr Aulakh further stated in the press note that the punishment would be finalised after examining the replies of the “delinquent” officials as per rules. It was never agreed that they would be reinstated without examining their replies, he added. The news reports in this regard as published in certain newspapers suggesting that the charge sheet issued to them had been taken back, were not factually correct, Dr Aulakh further said.
