Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Dhundhi 3 and Shimla 1, East Rajasthan: Sajangarh 2, East Uttar Pradesh: Ayodhya 13, Allahabad, Banda and Raebareilly 9 each, Bani 8, Ballia 7, Kanpur and Lucknow control room 6 each, Bahraich, Elginbridge and Hamirpur 5 each, Chhatnag, Chandradeepghat, Hanumansetu and Phaphamau 3 each, Varanasi AP 2 and Bansi, Basti, Bhinga, Ghazipur, Kakardharighat, Lucknow AP and Turtipar 1 each, West Uttar Pradesh: Kalpi 7, Shahjina 5 and Ankinghat 4 and Uttaranchal: Pantnagar 1.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 24: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.
