Students of Guru Nanak National College here have excelled in the M.A. I (Political Science) and B.A. II results for which were declared by the Panjab University today. Deepinder Kaur (D/O Mr Gurdev Singh) got first position in M.A. I (Political Science) by securing 259 marks out of 400.

Parmod Kumar No trace of missing salesman
Ludhiana, July 4
The Sherpur police has failed to locate Parmod Kumar, (29), three weeks after he was reported missing by his elder brother and wife. According to the report lodged with the police, Parmod was working as a salesman of grocery items on the shop owned by his elder brother Sailesh Kumar.

Rs 15 lakh in cash, jewellery stolen from house
Ludhiana, July 4
Cash worth Rs 15 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh were stolen from the house of a jeweller in Raman Enclave near Rishi Nagar here while the family of the jeweller was sleeping in the house. Rakesh Bhandari, a jeweller in Sarafa Bazar, woke up this morning to find that his valuables were missing and the house was ransacked by thieves.
He told the police that he, his wife and three children were sleeping in the verandah in their house.

NOC for load extension waived for ‘green industries’
Ludhiana, July 4
The 95 exempted categories of industries will not have to obtain a no objection certificate from the Punjab Pollution Control Board for the extension of electricity load. According to the PSEB, these industries can get their load extended only by furnishing an affidavit to the electricity board.
