Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Haryana and at isolated places in west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms are: Haryana: Chhachhrauli and Chandigarh 2 each and Guhla, Jagadhari and Naraingarh 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: Bharwain 9, Dhundhi 8, Bhoranj 6, Berthin, Barsar, Bangana, Bhang, Bhuntar, Guler, Kahu, Kasol, Solangnala, Shimla, Sundernagar and Solan 5 each, Dehragopipur, Nadaun, Sujanpurtira and Sunibhaji 4 each, Arki, Pandoh, Rampur Bushahar and Una 3 each and Ghamroor, Nagrotasurian and Patsio 2 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Batote and Banihal 7 each, Quazigund 5 and Jammu and Srinagar 2 each, Punjab: Nangal 7, Nawanshahar 3, Balachaur 2 and Malerkotla 1, West Rajasthan: Sriganganagar 1 and Uttaranchal: Tehri 3 and Dehradun and Mukteshwar 2 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell markedly in west Rajasthan, fell appreciably in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, fell in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and Utaranchal, rose in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were below normal in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh, above normal in west Uttar Pradsh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 5.8°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of February 18: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in north Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in south Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain/snow is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.
