Annual sports day

Mohali, February 11
The annual sports day of the Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, Mohali, was held today. The day marked the culmination of a week of various sports and athletic events.

The heats for races began on February 7 and were carried on till today where final events were held.

The students of classes I and II took part in obstacles race and 50 metre race. For classes III to VI the events scheduled were 100 metres race, relay race, high jump, long jump, kho-kho, hand-ball, basketball, carrom and table-tennis. Mr A.S. Bajwa, director of the school and S.K. Sharma, Principal, gave away the prizes.

Supreet, Sarita best athletes

Chandigarh, February 11
The 23rd Annual Athletic meet of the Government College, Sector 46, Chandigarh, was held today.

The track and field events and some fun games were held as part of the meet. Prof Paramjit Singh, Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was the chief guest.

He gave away prizes to the winners. Supreet and Sarita Gusain were adjudged as best athletes.

Dalip Kumar is CEO of CHB

Chandigarh, February 11
The Chandigarh Administration today effected a minor reshuffle and posted the Joint Secretary, Finance, Mr Dalip Kumar as Chief Executive Office of the Chandigarh Housing Board. Mr Dalip Kumar will continue to work in the CHB in addition to his existing duties.

He will relieve Mr K.S. Wahi, who has been posted as Special Secretary-cum-Controller, Printing and Stationery, relieving Capt P.S. Shergill (retd), of the charge of Controller, Printing and Stationery. However, Capt Shergill will continue to work as Subdivisional Magistrate (South), Additional Inspector General of Prisons and Superintendent Model Jail.

Ms Madhvi Kataria, Secretary of the CHB will swap places with Mr Gurdip Singh, Director Social Welfare, Chandigarh.

Baljeet Kapoor shifted to CCET

Chandigarh, February 11
The Chandigarh Administration today transferred the Director, Ad-interim of Punjab Engineering College, Dr Baljeet Kapoor, to the Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, Sector 26.

Dr Kapoor has been transferred as new director of PEC deemed university. Prof Vijay Gupta, were join the office on Monday.

The new director of PEC, Prof Vijay Gupta, was selected by a search committee headed by the Adviser, Mr Lalit Sharma. Prof Gupta was earlier working in the aerospace engineering department, IIT, Kanpur.
