DC directs SDM to pull up
3 lambardars
Ludhiana, February 2 Taking serious note of the absence of three lambardars on the occasion, he directed the SDM (West) to issue show-cause notices to them. In case the replies were found unsatisfactory, the SDM was directed to initiate proceedings to cancel their
lambardaris. Accompanied by the SDM (West), Mr M.S. Jaggi, he inspected the camp at Bhanorr village, where Mr Rajinder Kumar, Tehsildar, is holding the camp to clear pending mutations of four villages —
Pamal, Baddowal, Bhanorr and Detwal. The tehsildar said three lambardars had not attended the camp to identify legal heirs in there respective villages. The DC also checked the register of village chowkidars (watchmen) regarding the death and birth entries and directed them to submit one copy of the certificate to Civil Surgeon Office after the entry. Mr Verma asked the patwaris to submit undertakings certifying that no mutation was pending in their patwar circles and warned that strict action would be taken against the patwari who submit a wrong certificate. The Deputy Commissioner then visited the camp at Dakha village, where the Naib Tehsildar,
Mullanpur, Mr Joginder Singh, led the campaign for villages in Dakha–I, Dakha–II and Baraich areas. The tehsildar said 30 mutations from three patwar circles had already been approved and the camp would continue till 5 pm to clear the new cases. In Jagraon tehsil, Mr Verma inspected a camp at Malik village, where the performance of the tehsildar and other revenue officials was appreciated by him. Mr Gurmit Singh, SDM, Jagraon, said 61 mutations, out of 62 pending in five villages i.e.
Cheemna, Malik, Leelan, Ramgarh and Sherpur Kalan, had been cleared. At the camp, all patwaris submitted certificates before the Deputy Commissioner regarding the clearance of pending mutations in their circle. Mr Verma said nine camps were organised on the first day by forming special clusters comprising four to six villages. The camps were organised at Malik,
Lohatbaddi, Payal, Behlolpur, Lubangarh, Dakha, Malaud Rorian, Goh and Bhanorr villages. In the nine camps, pending mutations from 36 villages were taken up to clear the backlog. He said he would make more surprise visits to the camps to monitor the progress of revenue officers. The DC added that due to the non-execution of mutations in favour of owners/cultivating farmers, people concerned were facing difficulties in getting different kind of loans from various financial institutions/banks, as a result of which a large number of loan aspirants could not avail of the loan facilities of the government. Mr Verma said as per the new policy of the government, top priority had been accorded to releasing liberal loans to the agriculture sector. He said the clusters, based on four to six villages keeping in view the number of pending mutations, had been formed by all SDMs in their sub-divisions to execute pending mutations in the surrounding villages. |
