Higher reaches of HP, J&K get Chandigarh, December 21 An intense cold wave sweeping hills of Himachal further tightened its grip as the entire tribal belt and other higher reaches were covered with a thick white blanket. Bhang in Manali got 12 cm of snowfall, while Solang Nullah and Dhundi had 59 cm and 70 cm, snowfall,respectively. Patsio had 8 cm of snowfall. Many other places in Himachal were lashed by rains. They included Bhuntar, Rampur, Sunni, Berthin, Sujanpur Tira, Nadaun, Guler, Nagrota Surian, Gamrur and Baggi. The Kashmir Valley also continued to reel under cold wave conditions. Gulmarg and Kunzalwan had light snow. Sonamarg had 20 cm of snowfall and Banihal Top was covered by 12 cm of snowfall. Meanwhile, the foggy conditions, which had thrown life out of gear in the region for past few days, witnessed some improvement even as the minimum temperatures continued to hover a few degrees above the normal range.
