Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhunter and Shimla 1 each and Punjab: Nangal 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly below normal in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, appreciably below normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 34.0°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Uttaranchal, rose in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, below normal in west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 11.5°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 16: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 16: Mainly clear sky. Cool morning. Maximum and Minimum temperatures will be around 29°C and 18°C respectively.
