Sargam wins bronze in shooting

Ludhiana, October 14
It was a proud moment for Sargam Marwaha, student of local Kundan Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Civil Lines, when she received a medal from lone Indian medal winner in the Athens Olympics and ace shooter Major Rajvardhan Rathore during the eighth All-India Inter-School Shooting Championship held from September 29 to October 4 at Indore.

Sargam, student of class IX, bagged a bronze medal in this championship. Sargam added this medal to her kitty after emerging victorious in the district as well as in the Punjab State Championship held recently. She thanked the school Principal and the coach for providing ample opportunity which helped her to excel in the game.

The team of this school did well in the meet as Shivi Bansal, another student of the school, finished fourth in the same event.

Mr S.C. Saxena, Principal of the school, congratulated the shooters and their coach.

Gobindgarh College wins bronze in boxing

Gobindgarh Public College, Alaur, has won bronze medal during the Panjab University inter-college boxing championship held from October 10 to12 on the university campus, Chandigarh.

According to a press note of the college issued here today, three students of the college participated in the championship. Sanjay Sharma of BA II won bronze medal in the light weight category and Ramesh Sharma and Aditya Kaushal participated in the championship.

Chairman of the college management Pawan Sharda and Principal Dr Suresh Tandon greeted the participants and members of the staff.
