Kapoor hospital staff protest
Tribune News Service

Ludhiana, September 15
Members of the Employees Association of Dr B.L. Kapoor Memorial Hospital yesterday held a protest demonstration against the Medical Superintendent, Dr T.S. Cheema, in front of his office. They alleged that Dr Cheema was “inclined to close” the hospital and in the process he had asked all doctors not to see any patient in the OPD.

The employees alleged that all members of the association were doing their services in the best interest of the hospital and the patients but Dr Cheema was trying to disturb the working atmosphere there by his undue interference. It is a 250-bed hospital and at present about 40 patients are recovering from their illness from the hospital. Last month this figure was more than 100.

The association leader, Mr Surjit Singh Sekhon, alleged that Dr Cheema was trying to create misunderstanding between the employees and the doctors to close down the hospital. Mr Sekhon has urged the management of the hospital to take immediate and appropriate step in this regard.
