SUICIDE: Suresh Kumar (20) committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on Sunday at Chhauni Kalan, 5 km from here. Suresh Kumar of Jharkhand was working as a labourer. He married on June 2.

NRI SABHA: Patron of the NRI Sabha, Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh, has relieved Mr Pritam Singh Naurangpur of the presidentship of the sabha and asked Mr K.K. Sharma to oversee the sabha’s work till a new president was elected.

DIED: Ms Saroj Devi died and her nephew Pawan Kumar was injured when their motorcycle slipped near Jandwala village here on Monday.

COUPLE INJURED: Mr Dilbagh and his wife Mrs Neelam were injured when they were attacked by a group of persons at Barona village here on Monday. A dispute over money was stated to be the cause of the assault.

CLASH: At least four persons including two women, were injured in clashes that took place at Dhaturi and Murthal villages here on Monday.

SEIZED: The Haripur police seized 80 gm of charas from the possession of Vinod Kumar of Khabbal village here on Sunday.

DIED: Pritam Chand of Malog (Palampur) received head injuries while trying to board a bus here on Monday. He died on the spot.

WORKSHOP: The Himalayan Phytochemical and Growers Association will organise a workshop on diversification of farming fystem of medicine and Aromatic Plant here on Wednesday. The president of the association, Mr Surinder Mohan, said experts would advise growers on herbs.

CRUSHED TO DEATH: Parwati, a six-year-old girl was crushed to death near Sambal, village, 9 km from here on Monday. The police has impounded the vehicle and registered a case under Section 104-A of the IPC.

ACCIDENTS: One person was killed and five others were injured in different accidents here on Sunday. Jeeva fell from first floor of his house in Kotli village and succumbed to injuries in the hospital. Three persons were injured at Brindaban, near here, when their vehicle collided with a car. In another accident two persons were injured when a truck hit their scooter on the Pathankot national highway.

Palampur
KILLED: Pritam Chand, a lineman of the HPSEB, was killed when he fell down from a moving bus near Bhawarna on Monday. The victim received head injuries and died on the spot. The police has registered a case against the driver and the conductor under Section 304B of the IPC.
