The police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of contract killers, dacoits and robbers headed by Anil Kumar, alias Tota, of Chandigarh who had been committing crimes in the city for one and a half year.

Admn, MC lock horns over imposing taxes

The Chandigarh Administration and the Municipal Corporation have once again locked horns over the issue of imposing taxes on city residents. The Administration has told the MC that Rs 20 crore, which is a part of the grant-in-aid, would not be released till the MC decides to raise its own revenues.

NCC doing away with technical units

Haryana Vigilance Bureau today arrested Harish Kalra, a Naib Tehsildar posted at Raipur Rani, along with his two subordinates on the charge of accepting bribe from Mr Ishwar Chand.
