EC rejects BJP’s plea on campaigning deadline
New Delhi, April 11
The BJP’s plea for extending poll campaigning deadline from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. was rejected by the three-member Election Commission panel headed by Chief Election Commissioner T.S. Krishna Murthy, which met here today.

Ajit Jogi critically hurt in road accident
Raipur/Mumbai, April 11
Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi was critically injured today with his legs paralysed when the vehicle carrying him on electioneering in his Mahasamund Lok Sabha constituency rammed into a tree and he was admitted to a Mumbai hospital for specialised treatment.

Ram Jethmalani threatens PM
Lucknow, April 11
Attacking the BJP for dragging the AICC President Sonia Gandhi in the Bofors case, senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani today asked the saffron party not to take campaigning to the “gutter” and claimed he, too, had something which, if revealed, “will implicate the Prime Minister and his colleagues”.
