Cricket probables for coaching centre

Ludhiana, April 4
The Ludhiana District Cricket Association (LDCA) today conducted trials at the Arya College for Boys ground to select the probables (u-17 year) to enroll them with the regional coaching centre, being run by the association under the auspices of the Punjab Cricket Association. According to Mr Vinod Chitkara, general secretary, LDCA, the following 32 boys were selected for the centre who would undergo coaching prior to their participation in the Punjab State Inter-District Cricket Championship slated to begin in the month end. These players have been asked to report to Mr Charanjit at Arya College on April 6 at 3.30 pm.

Rana Club win

Despite fine batting display by Raja (41 n.o) and Richa (53 n.o), NCC XI went down by 32 runs against Rana Club in the second match of the 11th Veera Devi Memorial Cricket Tournament being organised by the FTI Club at the Bhambia Kalan ground here today.

Batting first, Rana Club were all out for 169 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, NCC XI made 137 for two wickets in their quota of overs.

The second match of the day, scheduled to be played between Sports Centre XI and Guru XI could not be held as the latter failed to turn up. The match was awarded to the Sports Centre XI.
