Jhajjar, March 31
The prestigious model school run by the District Education Society is at the centre of a row after a scuffle between a teacher and a member of the managing body cost the Principal her job. The office of the school has been sealed by the administration. The teacher involved in the ruckus has also been suspended and an inquiry initiated against him. The inauguration of the nursery wing of the school, which was to take place today, had to be postponed due to the controversy.

According to sources, the Deputy Commissioner, Mr Mohinder Kumar, the chairperson of the District Education Society, held an emergency meeting of the school managing body and decided to take strict action against the staff members involved in the scuffle. The row began on Monday. The verbal duel snowballed when the male teacher, identified as Dharmender, and a managing body member, Sarvmeet, came to blows the next day.

However, taking senior note of the violent row, the DC called a meeting of the managing body and suspended Dharmander and ordered an inquiry against him to be conducted by the SDM, Jhajjar. He also accepted the resignation of the Principal, which was reportedly offered by her of her own accord. The administration also sealed the office of the school so that no documents could be tampered with during the inquiry.
