Rainfall: Rain, snow occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir) recorded 1 cm of precipitation.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in west Uttar Pradesh, rose appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, rose in East Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were below normal in Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 4°C at Hindon (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 31: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in Uttar Pradesh.
