Prayag floors Rishi Prakash, enters final

Prayag of New Delhi scored a quick first round RSC (referee stopped the contest) victory against Rishi Prakash of East and entered the final of the 25th Delhi State Sub-Junior Boxing Championship at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

The others who scored comparatively quick wins were Harish Sehrawat of North over Dhruv Kant of New Delhi, Sandeep Sejwal of South lost to Chandan of East and Sanjeet Kumar of IBSA beat Randeep of East.

Paragon: 137 all out in 30.1 overs (Amit Gupt 27, Rajesh Deshwal 3 for 22, Narender Deshwal 3 for 33).

Essex Farms beat Telefunken Club by nine wickets in a DDCA A-I Division League at the YSC II ground.

Scores: Telefunken: 167 for 9 in 35 overs (Gurjot Singh 39, Praveen Pawar 59, Konark Bhandari 2 for 21).

Essex Farms: 168 for 1 in 30.4 overs (Parikshit Bhatia 51 n o, Mukesh Marwah 37 n o).

Anmol slams ton

A crackling century by Anmol Sharma (131, 15x4, 3x6) and deadly bowling of 4 for 30 by Vipul Kumar helped R R Gymkhana beat Harry Academy by 156 runs in the third Kehar Singh Memorial Under-15 Cricket Tournament at the Vikaspuri ground.

CWC move up

Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) beat Business Standard by ten wickets in a league match of the TYCA League at the Poorvi Delhi Sports Complex ground.

Scores: Business Standard: 136 for 9 in 35 overs (Chander Mohan 33, Vivek Verma 30, Surjeet Verma 3 for 22, Rakesh Raman Jha 3 for 25).

CWC: 138 in 24.1 overs (Sunil Sudan 86 n o, Rajeev Vinayak 47 n o).

Puneet Walia deadly

A deadly spell of 4 for 6 by off-spinner Puneet Walia and a dashing knock of 68 by Rahul Kumar helped R P Academy beat Sonnet Club by 174 runs in the final of the fifth Little Master Under-13 Cricket Tournament at the Ashok Vihar ground.

Vaibhav Rawal was named the best batsman while Raghav Kakkar got the best bowler award. Pawan Negi was adjudged the best fielder while Dangar got the man of the tournament award.

Young Blood win in Cariappa Cup polo tourney

New Delhi, December 8
Young Blood defeated KIDC by seven goals to three in the Field Marshal Cariappa Cup Polo Tournament at the Army Equestrian Centre Polo ground.

Young Blood forged ahead through A S Baath, and the lead was consolidated by Maj A S Randhawa and Surya Bahadur. Lt. Col B. S. Lakra reduced the margin for KIDC as the first chukker ended 3-1.

Young Blood added two more goals in the second chukker through Randhawa and Capt. Deepak Yadav. Randhawa struck again for Young Blood while Tony Singh and Bas Lakra scored one goal each for KIDC to make the 6-3. In the last chukker, Young Blood completed the scoring through Randhawa in the last chukker.

Tuesday’s fixture: Final of Habanos Cavalry Gold Cup: Cromption Greaves vs ABN-AMRO Bank; 3.30 pm. Exhibition match: 2.30 pm.

Associate beat ICICI

Associate Finance defeated ICICI Bank by five wickets in the Eventus Cricket Tournament. Electing to bat, ICICI scored 166 for 9 in 25 overs. Associate Finance achieved the target 168 in 23.4 overs with the loss of 5 wickets.

Sagar Garg shines in drawn match

A devastating bowling performance of 7 for 47 by Sagar Garg helped RPM Academy draw with Aviva XI in the opening match of the Aviva Young Achiever Under-13 Day-Night Cricket Tournament at the Gyan Bharati School ground, Saket.

The tournament was inaugurated by managing director of Aviva Life Insurance Company Stuart Purdy. The guest of honour was principal of Gyan Bharati School R C Sekhar.

Scores: Aviva XI (1st innings): 157 all out in 49.2 overs (Jerry Stephens 30 n o, Agneev Ghosh 24, Sagar Garg 7 for 47, Sanchit Aggarwal 2 for 29).

2nd innings: 205 for 5 declared in 51 overs (Swapandeep Singh 35, Paras Priyadarshan 31, Jerry Stephens 30, Mahesh Prasad 33 n o, Abhishek Bajaj 2 for 31, Shobit Jaju 2 for 34).

Double delight for J D Madan

J D Madan earned a ‘double’ as he won the saloon class titles in the National Racing Championship, organised under the aegis of the Madras Motor Sport Club. In the Formula Maruti category, Gaurav Dalal dominated the first race while Hari K topped in the second race. Aman Preet Ahluwalia of Delhi was declared the winner of the Novice award and the fastest lap of this race went to Gaurav Dalal.

The final round will be held on Sunday, December 21. J D Madan posted a time of 13:55.480 in the 10-lap Saloon Class race while his timing in the 15-lap Saloon Class Race 2 was 19:33.103.

Abhi Cricket

R P Academy beat ASPM Academy, Punjabi Bagh by 100 runs and entered the semi-final of the Abhi Cricket Tournament at the Jawaharlal ground, Gurgaon.

Scores: R P Academy: 235 for 4 in 30 overs (Afroz Masis 93, Sandeep Tyagi 54 n o). ASPM Academy: 135 all out in 27 overs (Nikhil 52, Puneet Mehra 3 for 9, Afroz Masis 3 for 11).

Hosts Delhi Public School (DPS), R K Puram defeated Bukit Jalil Sports School, Malaysia by 93 runs and entered the quarter-final of the DPS World Cup Cricket Tournament for Schools at the Guru Gobind Singh College ground, Pitampura.

Scores: DPS: 134 all out in 32.3 overs (Diwakar Jha 24, Hemant Chug 22, Abir Lavasa 21, Eszrafiq Abdul Azis 2 for 9, Md. Shukri Abdul Rahim 2 for 28, Md Fhadli Ishak 2 for 13).

In another match, Razzak High School, Bangladesh beat Delhi Private School, Sharjah by 195 runs.
