Rain or snow has occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and few places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Punjab and isolated places in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.
The chief amounts of rainfall are: Himachal Pradesh:
Bangana, Bhuntar, Bharwain, Pandoh, Rajgarh, Shimla, Sundernagar and Una 1 cm each. Jammu and Kashmir: Batote and Quazigund 3 cm each, Jammu 2 cm and Srinagar 1cm. Punjab: Amritsar and Batala 2 cm each and Nangal 1 cm. Uttaranchal: Tehri 1 cm.
Snowfall (in
cms): Dhundhi 30, Solangnala 5 and Bhang and Patsio 2 each.
Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.
Departure: They were markedly above normal in Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in Jammu and Kashmir. The lowest temperature in plains was 8.5 oC recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).
