South-west monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of Punjab and west Rajasthan. The withdrawal line passes through Barmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Ferozepore. Monsoon has been vigorous in east Uttar Pradesh and active in east Rajasthan.

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have been reported at most places in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, at many places in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Weather was dry in west Rajasthan. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Haryana: Rohtak, Rewari and Sonepat 1 each; Himachal Pradesh: Bangana 4, Dhundhi, Ghamror, Shimla and Solangnala 3 each, Dharamsala and Nahan 2 each, Barsar, Guler, Kangra, Khairi and Kotkhai 1 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 3 and Basoli 1; Punjab: Balachaur 2 and Shahpurkandi 1; east Rajasthan: Bundi 4, Hindoli and Urmilasagar 3 each, Bijolia, Jaitpura and Rajakhera 2 each and Amer, Angai, Bassi, Chandsen, Dausa, Dholpur, Kotri, Lalsot, Radia Dam, Shahpura and Udaipur A.P. 1 each; east Uttar Pradesh: Shardanagar 15, Fatehgarh 13, Katerniaghat and Palliakalan 12 each, Ankinghat 11, Banda and Dalmau 5 each, Bhatpurwaghat, Kakardharighat and Turtipar 3 each, Ayodhya, Auraiya, Bhinga and Rae Bareli 2 each and Allahabad, Balrampur, Elginbridge, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Kanpur, Lucknow A.P. and Sultanpur 1 each; west Uttar Pradesh: Dabri 7, Kalpi and Sarsawa 2 each and Breilly 1; and Uttaranchal: Banbasa 4 and Mukteshwar 1.

Forecast valid until the morning of September 19: Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan and at isolate places in Haryana and Punjab. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of September 19: Mainly cloudy sky with rain or thundershowers in some areas.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi:Forecast valid until the morning of September 19: Light or moderate rain is likely at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
