Dacoits strike at PNB branch

Six armed dacoits looted Rs 7.31 lakh from the Punjab National Bank branch at Machhra on the busy Garh Road after threatening the employees at pistol-point yesterday.

Gang of highway conmen smashed
New Delhi, September 6
Crime Branch of the Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a gang of conmen that used to drug passengers after befriending them. They were identified as Vinod Kumar alias Deva, Madan alias Sanjeev, Rajeev Kumar Shukla, Rashid and Pehelwan Singh, police said.

Businessman robbed of Rs 2.41 lakh
New Delhi, September 6
Four youths armed with guns robbed a businessman of Rs 2.41 lakh at Pashchim Vihar area in West district this afternoon. The victim, Surender Mohan Chaudhary, had a tent house at Pashchim Vihar Extension.

Suicide by two youths
Sonepat, September 6
Two youths have reportedly committed suicide by consuming poison in their villages. They were admitted to local Civil Hospital during the night in a serious condition. They died today in the hospital.

The Juvenile Justice Board on Saturday directed the prosecution that the two minors convicted of raping a student of Maulana Azad Medical College be confined to a special home until they cease to be juveniles.
