Special screening of Formula One race New Delhi, August 22 As racing resumes in Formula One drivers’ championship after a three-week gap with the Hungarian Grand Prix, Ferrari ace Michael Schumacher finds his quest for a record-setting sixth crown seriously threatened. Though Schumacher still leads the standings in the championship, he has won for the past three years, he faces a serious challenge from the Williams duo of Juan Pablo Montoya and his own brother Ralf, McLaren’s young Finn Kimi Raikkonen and team-mate Rubens Barrichello. All these drivers have had a stand on the podium this season. The driver’s points race has tightened up considerably in the past couple of months as several other drivers have been taking the chequered flag ahead of Schumacher. The imperious German still leads on 71 points but Montoya has now moved into second spot on 65, Raikkonen is third on 62. The action now moves to Hungary where last year, Schumacher and Barrichello enjoyed a Ferrari one-two. That’s just the result the Italian team need now or else their reign at the top could be in jeopardy. |
