The art of giving pleasure – Praise the worthy

Where the thought is so beautiful it is the music of poetry that alone can capture it:

There are people and there are people…

But there are those

Whom you remember

And those are the ones

Who left a glow in your heart?

Whose warmth surrounded you like a cocoon?

And you felt secured in that love, appreciation, and admiration.

May be for a moment only

But the glow was certainly there

For you show in your own eyes in that glow!

And that moment of glory was yours alone

Given to you by that unforgettable admirer

Nobody could rob you of that precious pleasure

And in that moment of appreciation

You were pure joy

And strong

Nothing else mattered, no weakness, no bitterness, no failures, no regrets and no loneliness

For in that moment of admiration.

You found a fellow traveller

Who shared with you, who understood, who appreciated you?

And in that moment of pleasure

In receiving the compliment

You also gave

You gave the admirer

The beauty of yourself, the goodness of your deed

And he made it his own

Because he admired it!

You gave him a part of yourself

And in it he found pleasure!

You received yet you gave

Pleasure for pleasure

Joy for joy

Peace for peace

Warmth for warmth.

And all this happened

Just in that moment

Of giving and receiving compliment

And just because

One person stepped out

To appreciate.

Make me an appreciator Oh Lord!

For when I appreciate

The whole world is mine!

PRINCIPAL SPEAK
Importance of value education in schools

In a secular state, such as India, we need to impart value education that deals with man in his relation to the Supreme Being not favouring any particular religion.

With the break down of the joint family system we are facing the tangible erosion of cultural and ethical strengths. Hence, it is the duty of the school to refine a human being and fashion their spirit in such a way to infuse such values that the individual evolves and remains a person of strong values.

The objective should be to awaken in children a sense of right and wrong, good and evil through carefully chosen examples and incidents. We have to inculcate the knowledge that reverence to God is the force that inspires us to choose the right path.

Personality development and etiquette also help to foster the basis of good grooming and upright personality of the children. Parents remain the pivot point at home where children consciously or subconsciously emulate the examples set by them.

Hence, we can’t undermine the importance of educating the parents and assist them to provide the necessary guidance at the initial and the crucial stages of child development.

Role of parents and teachers remains in not teaching them ‘how to walk’, but also ‘where to walk’. Our entire education is geared towards collecting, memorising and gathering information and knowledge, but pays scant attention to the solution of problems.

As a result, negative qualities surround us. Good educationists have the responsibility to ensure that we are not imparting or restricting education to books. We need to encourage students to imbibe and absorb it into life and experiences.

The center of all values is Love and children have to understand that along with rights we also have to fulfil duties. We also have to renew the children’s faith in human goodness and assure them that they are capable of being a blessing to the world.
