Rain in Rajasthan areas

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Rajasthan, at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in Punjab.

The chief amount of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Ayanagar and New Delhi (Safdarjung) 8 each, New Delhi (Palam) 6, and Delhi Ridge 1, Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu 2, East Rajasthan: Sikar 13, Dataramgarh 9, Viratnagar 7, Shahpura 6, Bhinay, Bandikui, Jammaramgarh Mahuwa and Patan Tank 5 each, Mausada and Thanagazi 4 each, Baswa, Rajgarh and Sikrai 3 each, Bharatpur, Didwana, Gogunda, Gangapur, Kapasan, Kathumar Mavali and Tonk 2 each and Jaipur 1, West Rajasthan: Raipur 6, Jawaidam Mount Abu, Sirohi and Sumerpur 5 each, Jatiran and Pindwara 4 each, Angora and Jalore 3 each and Kanpur 1. West Uttar Pradesh: Agra 5, Dabri 2 and Fatehgarh 1 and Uttaranchal: Joshimath 2 and Uttarkashi 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell largely in east Rajasthan, fell in Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were largely below normal in west Rajasthan, markedly below normal in Haryana, appreciably below normal in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, east Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperature in the region was 40.6°C recorded at Banda (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 22: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and likely at a few places in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of June 22: Mainly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thundershowers in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 36°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of June 22: Light to moderate rain is likely at a few places.
