Final match not held The hockey fans here were disappointed lot today as the final match of the Summer Hockey Six-a Side League
Tournament being organised by the Aryan Hockey Club at the astroturf ground of the Punjab Agricultural University was not held. Four teams — Prithipal Singh XI, M.P. Singh Grewal XI, Surjit Singh XI and Bhupinder Singh XI have been taking part in this league tournament which commenced last month. The final match was scheduled to be played between Surjit Singh XI and Bhupinder Singh XI . An office-bearer of the organising club on condition of anonymity told Ludhiana Tribune that the final match and the fixture to decide the third and fourth position, scheduled to be held today were not conducted because of mismanagement on the part of the club. Only four days earlier, the organisers had announced that the two matches would be played this Sunday, followed by the prize distribution function where a former international hockey player would be the chief guest.
