Gurmehar Singh and Kedar Tembe of India today qualified to the main draw in the ITF Men Challenger Tennis Tournament (second leg), being played here today at the CLTA Tennis stadium, in Sector 10. Cricket tourneyRanjit Bajaj of Minerva Club proved his worth with both bat and ball in the Samsung League Cricket Tournament played here today at Government Model Senior Secondary School grounds, Sector 19, today. Samsung Xi made122 runs and were all out. Ranjit claimed two wickets for 28 runs. In reply, Minerva Club achieved the target with the loss of four wickets only. Aman scored 46 runs while Ranjit remained unbeaten at 20. In another match of the day, Youth Gear Xi defeated Sky Cricket Club by 27 runs, while Livewire Cricket Club beat District Coaching Centre, Panchkula, by five wickets. Rajesh shines A superb performance by Rajesh Patha, who scored 68 runs and bagged five wickets for 26 runs, helped Leader Cricket Club in beating Chandigarh Sports Club by 64 runs. In another match of the day, Star Xi beat Panchkula Cricket Club by 21 runs while Elite Cricket Club defeated Seventeen Cricket Club by seven wickets. City women winChandigarh women cornered glory in the North Zone Inter-state Ball Badminton Championship, which concluded at Sundernagar (HP) last week. In the women final, Chandigarh overpowered Himachal Pradesh 39-41, 40-34, 40-37. In the men section, Chandigarh secured second place. They lost to Punjab 40-25, 33-40,34-40.
