Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Lucknow (East Uttar Pradesh) recorded 1 cm of rainfall.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir, rose in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Punjab and Uttaranchal, above normal in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperature in the region was 46.6°C recorded at Agra (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of 24th May 2003: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Isolated thundersqualls is also likely in Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of 24th May 2003: Mainly clear sky with dust haze. Duststorm/thunderstorm accompanied with squall is likely in some areas. Fall in maximum temperature which will be around 39°C.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of 24th May 2003: Thunder likely at few places. Squall with wind speed exceeding 65 km.p.h. is likely at isolated places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
