SDO shifted for misbehaving with councillor Ludhiana, May 20 The action comes in the wake of a complaint lodged with the MC Commissioner against the SDO by a delegation of ruling-party councillors led by the Senior Deputy Mayor, Mr Prem Mittal. The councillors had alleged that the MC official had behaved disrespectfully with Ms Malkiat Kaur, a Congress councillor, when she had visited the zonal office in connection with a pending work in Ganesh Nagar locality. According to Ms Malkiat Kaur, the SDO had said in the presence of many others that he did not care for the councillors belonging to the Scheduled Castes and that the councillors had no business to interfere in the working of the MC. Some other councillors had also complained of ill treatment and misbehaviour at the hands of this official. The Commissioner, Mr Sharma, assured the delegation of councillors that the MC officials would accord due respect to the elected representatives and anyone found guilty of misbehaviour or undesirable conduct would be punished. |
