SAI to organise Dr T Ao soccer New Delhi, May 13 Dr T Ao Football Tournament from May 17 to 30 at the Nehru Stadium, Guwahati (Assam). The tournament is being held to showcase the football talent from the North East region. This will provide an opportunity to the All-India Football Federation and the SAI to spot outstanding footballers from the region and induct them in appropriate schemes/camps for further grooming for international duty. Teams from Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Sikkim will participate in the tournament, along with two teams from the SAI Eastern Region. The tournament will be held on a league-cum-knockout format with five teams in each of the two pools. A total of 24 matches will be played.

Rewari, May 13 She was the lone participant from Haryana Police among the four women constables had participated in the championship from India. Besides a large number of other karate players from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Japan, Korea, Russia and Sri Lanka, also participated in the championship, which was held from May 2 to May 5. She bagged the silver medal in the 60-kg weight category. Complimenting constable Maya Rani, who is a blackbelt holder in karate, Mr Hanif Qureshi SP, Rewari, said that she had brought glory to the Haryana Police as well as the women of India.
