Plea for filing cases against SHO, lawyer

A jeep owner of Bhaini Maharajpur village in Meham town has filed an ‘istgasa’ in the court of Dr Abdul Majeed, SDJM, Meham, to register cases under various sections of the IPC against his Reader, an SHO and certain other policemen and a lawyer. In his complaint, the jeep owner, Vijender Singh, said that while he was taking his ailing wife to a doctor on February 5 last year, Mr Inder Singh Kundu, SHO, Sadar Police Station, Meham, accompanied by few policemen, directed him to go to Uttar Pradesh to campaign in favour of the ruling Indian National Lok Dal (INLD).

He alleged that the police official was infuriated when he refused to comply with the orders and his vehicle was challaned and impounded on false charges. Moreover, he alleged, his jeep was taken to UP for campaigning in favour of the ruling Indian National Lok Dal.

The complainant said that he had filed a petition in a court at Meham. He sought registration of cases under Sections 166,362,385,383, 384,415,463,468 and 403 of the IPC against the SHO, Inder Singh Kundu. He also sought registration of cases under Sections 166,362, 385,383,384,403 of the IPC against other policemen involved in the incident.
