Medical camp for industrial workers Ludhiana, April 12 Mr V.K. Goyal, Chief Executive, Vardhman Spinning and General Mills, inaugurated the camp. Medicines and eyedrops were provided free of cost. As many as 500 workers and their family members attended the camp. Counselling sessions were also held on the importance of medical care, balanced diet, nutrition, mother and child care and regarding various chronic diseases. In his address, Mr Goyal said there was a need for holding such camps for industrial workers for spreading health awareness and emphasised upon the need for organising such activities for improving the health of workers. He appealed to the workers to shun smoking, drinking and chewing tobacco, which led to chronic ailments. Dr Ramesh, one of the doctors at the camp said there was a need to spread awareness about eye donation. Mr Goyal assured full support and cooperation for organising such camps for the welfare of the workers. |
