CBI unearths major IT refund scam
Conducts raids in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab
New Delhi, April 11
The CBI today claimed to have unearthed a major fraud of income tax refunds on the basis of forged Tax Deducted at Source certificates running into more than Rs 87 lakh during raids conducted at 11 places in Delhi, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Jagraon (Ludhiana) and Faridkot.

US troops enter Mosul; looting on
Dubai, April 11
Consolidating their hold in Iraq, US troops along with Kurdish fighters today took control of the second main northern city of Mosul where widespread looting broke out after an entire corps of the Iraqi army surrendered.

In a move that has put a question mark over the career of thousands of students, Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, has decided to cancel all papers of the second and third semesters of the Master of Information Technology (M.Sc — IT) course.

A token jatha of 99 Sikh devotees today left for Pakistan to celebrate Baisakhi at Gurdwara Panja Sahib and to pay obeisance at other gurdwaras, from the Wagah joint check post here today.Mr Bakshish Singh Dharowali is the leader of the SGPC jatha while Mr Harwinder Singh Sarna is leading the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee jatha.
