Dreaming of hair

DREAMS of hair are generally considered to be nightmares. Hair is very rarely considered to be an object of beauty in dreams. It is very common to see unwanted hair cropping up in various parts of the body, or maybe suddenly losing the hair on one's head, or maybe unnecessary long hair.

As per Indian thought, to see beautiful and glowing hair on your head indicates forthcoming illness. Should you see that you lose hair and then get bald then also you are warned to beware, for you may soon face a massive loss in your profession job or business. Should a married person see this dream then they can expect problems to crop up in their married life. Thus dreams of hair are nearly always considered bad omens. To cut your hair very short foretells that your extravagance shall give way to frugality.

As per western thought, for a woman to dream of possessing beautiful hair which she is tending to, or combing, portends carelessness on her part in personal affairs. She will stand to lose in the long run if she doesn't think before acting. For a man to see himself losing hair foretells that he may suffer losses due to unnecessary generosity. To see your hair turn grey foretells a mishap in the family. To see yourself covered with hair foretells vices that shall bring a bad name to you. Even the colour of the hair has a special significance in dreams. To dream of golden hair proves that you will be faithful in your relationships. Seeing red hair signifies changes and unfaithfulness. Brown hair is an indication of professional misfortune. To get your hair cut indicates disappointments.

Psychoanalytically speaking, hair represents strength and virility. To comb your hair in your dreams is to untangle certain complicated issues or attempt to change your attitude or way of thinking. To get a haircut means that you will try and bring a certain amount of discipline in your life. To cut hair the hair of some other person is an indication of your desire to try and restrict the activities of that person. To see yourself bald means that you will recognise your own intellectual capabilities.

A man would often dream his of wife getting bald. She was in reality very beautiful and had lovely tresses. The dream it seems was more or less a reflection of the man's inferiority complex. He resented the attention that his wife would get wherever they went. The dream was an indication of his desire to cut her down to size.
