Arya College win cricket tourney Ludhiana, March 7 Arya College won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 179 runs after losing five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Gaurav Marwaha hammered 63 off 46 balls, which included six hits to the boundary. Amul cracked 39 off 28 balls, laced with two fours and one six while Rajeev chipped in with 15 runs. For Government College Varinder scalped two victims conceding 33 runs while Krishan, Sidharth and Mohit captured one wicket each. In reply, Government College, despite useful innings by their captain Salil, who scored a scintillating 68 from 48 deliveries and Jimmy who cracked 42 off 28 balls, could muster 147 runs for the loss of five wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Ajay contributed 11 runs. Deepak of Arya College grabbed three wickets for 20 runs. Mr O.P. Munjal, Co-Chairman and Managing Director of Hero Cycles and Dr M S Mahal, an international umpire, were the guests at the prize distribution function. Deepak was given a Hero Siren cycle while all members of the Arya College team received Hero Devil cycles.
