Khalsa College for women athletics meet Ludhiana, February 21 Parveen of B A II and Joginder Kaur of BA-I finished second and third, respectively, in shot put, while in the 400 m race, Harpreet of B A I and Kanchan, B.Sc second and third, respectively. Earlier, Mr Kartar Singh, Director, Sports, Punjab inaugurated the two-day meet in which more than 400 students were taking part. Dr Varinder Kaur,
Principal of the college, welcomed the chief guest. Mr Kartar Singh announced a grant of Rs 21,000 for sports activities in the college. Prominent players of the college who represented the city and the state in the various meets included Paramjit Kaur (handball), Harpreet (athletics), Amanpreet (cricket), Anuradha (cricket), Harpreet Kaur (volleyball) and Jaspreet Kaur (athletics) lit the game torch.
