Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, rose in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan, above normal in east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 5.4° C recorded at Sarsawa (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of February 17, 2003: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 17, 2003: Mainly clear sky. Mist in the morning. Slight rise in minimum temperature and will be around 11° C.
