Martial art instructor at 14

Local boy Nitin Sharma has achieved the distinction of becoming the youngest instructor in the Choi Kwang Do Martial Art. Nitin was chosen as Assistant Instructor during the National seminar held at Panvel (Mumbai). He was honoured at a function held at Choi Kwang Do Martial Art Community Centre, Sector 44. Nitin attributed his success to the intensive training and guidance of Mr Sudher Kumar, Chief
Instructor, Black Belt II D and Mr Suresh Kumar Dogra, Instructor, Black Belt II Dan at Chandigarh of Choi Kwang Do Martial Art, Mumbai. Mr Dogra praised the efforts and hardwork put in by Nitin and hoped, this boy will scale dizzy heights in times to come. Dogra said, Choi Kwang Do is a modern art, based on principles derived from the scientific field of bio-mechanics, chiropractice and psycho-neutrology. He said it was founded by Grand Master Kwang Jo Choi, Ninth Degree Black Belt after many years of research in association with US scientists and doctors. Nitin said, it was yoga accompanied by self defence which infused more interest in him for learning more about this art.
Athletics meetJatinder Kaur among girls and Narinder Singh among boys were adjudged best athletes at the conclusion of the two-day annual athletics meet of the
Government College of Education, Sector 20-D, here today. Ms Madhavi Kataria, SDM, UT, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes. A cultural function was also held on the occasion. Earlier, Ms Surinder Tangri, Principal, welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the various activities being organised by the college. The various winners were: boys — Narinder Singh, Pardeep, Kapil, Kamal, Gurdeep Singh, Kuldeep. Among girls the winners were, Manju Verma, Anupama, Sonia and Inderjeet Kaur.
