Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Dharamsala and Kangra 2 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Quazigund 1; east Uttar Pradesh: Allahabad 2 and Varanasi 1 and Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar 1. Snowfall report (cm): Himachal Pradesh: Dhundhi 3.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh, fell in Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: These were markedly above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, appreciably above normal in Haryana, above normal in east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 2° C, recorded at Bathinda (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning February 4: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in Rajasthan.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 4: Partly cloudy sky. Mist or fog in the morning. Minimum temperature will be around 8° C.
