A colourful cultural programme was organised on the occasion of annual prize distribution function of Guru Hargobind Public Senior Secondary School, Sidhwan Khurd. Some of the students had dressed up as Mr Parkash Singh Badal, Capt Amarinder Singh, Mr Laloo Prasad Yadav, Ms Rabri Devi, Mr Chautala and Ms Sushma Swaraj. Tiny tots made their contribution by singing nursery rhymes in colourful clothes. They looked like little fairies. A student had dressed up as a moving library, while an other had dressed up as a cake. Aerobic exercises performed in unison by students were wonderful.

A skit that revolved round the interviewing of a prospective bridegroom was hilarious. The boy was asked a whole lot of inane questions and finally rejected. Bhangra items were very good.

To honour the guest of honour, Kimi Aggarwal, a TV and film actress, who has acted in ‘Jee Aayan Nu’ with Harbhajan Mann, students performed a gidda item. Kimi Aggarwal was so moved that she joined the girls on the stage and executed some intricate steps much to the delight of the students.

Ms Satinderjit Kaur, Principal of the school, read out the annual report of the school.

The chief guest, Dr Amrit Pal Singh Mann, Dean, Basic Sciences, PAU, was first taken around a science exhibition arranged by the students. Dr Mann praised students for their efforts.
