Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, January 4
After two days of competitions, a fete was held on the third day at Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women as a befitting culmination of the ongoing events. The weather gods were pleased, too, as the sun made its appearance after days.

Since the college is on the National Highway, constraint of space made the college authorities ban entry of males. Only women were allowed in.

The most attractive feature of the fete was a village scene that . A typical village kitchen with traditional utensils used in rural areas made a fascinating picture. Colourful phuklaris and hand-woven 'durries' completed the ambiance of rural setting.

Harbhajan Mann- famous Punjabi folk singer and actor -was the cynosure of all eyes. he was the special guest .

students were excited to find Mann in their midst. They wanted him to sing all famous songs like 'Gallan goriyan te vich tohye, asi mar gaye oye hoye. The students danced while he sang. Forgotten were the game stalls.

Only when he left, the visitors turned their attention to sumptuous food like paav-bhaji, dosas, bhelpuriand noodles.
