All set for Pulse Polio campaign

Machhiwara, December 28
The local health authorities have completed all arrangements for the first phase of the intensified Pulse Polio campaign.
Talking to Ludhiana Tribune, the SMO, Dr Harvinder Singh, said in the Machhiwara block 10 urban posts, 59 rural posts, two transit posts and a mobile post were established to administer polio drops to 13,367 children in the age group of 0-5 years. Thirteen supervisors were asked to watch the arrangements, he added. Apart from employees of the Health Department, services of Aanganwari workers, teachers and students would be taken, he said.

Dr Harvinder Singh informed that polio drops would be administered to children at the posts of January 5, 2003 and on the next two days volunteers would go from door to door to make it sure that every child in the 0-5 age group was administered polio drops.
