title New Delhi, December 24 Electing to bat, Meerut University piled up 506 for eight wickets in 156 overs before declaring their innings. Sudhir Shisodiya’s knock of 130, which contained 18 boundaries, and his 137-run fourth-wicket partnership with Anjiv Lohia (65, 12x4), were the highlights of the innings. In reply, the Panjab University batsmen failed to cope up with the wiles and guiles of spinner Nazar Khan, and were all out for 214 in 55.1 overs. Forced to follow on, Panjab University managed to score 192 for 7 in 51 overs to deny Meerut an outright victory. Sudhir Shisodia, Sahin Yadav and Nazar Khan, all from Meerut, were adjudged the Man of the Match, Man of the Tournament and best bowler respectively. Anurag Sharma of Guru Nanak Dev University was adjudged the best batsman. Former India player Madan Lal gave away the prizes. Tarun Sangha hold
Mughals New Delhi, December 24 The match was played on a wet ground, following rains, and the slushy ground conditions made ball control difficult. There were very few meaningful moves, and the contest, as expected, ended in a goalless deadlock. Mughals have collected 10 points from six matches while Tarun Sangha have earned eight points from six matches. Mughals take on Hindustan in their next match while Tarun Sangha will meet Simla Youngs in their last league match. Earlier, defending champions Hindustan Club got walkover from Frontiers Club, who could not field a full team due to “shortage” of players. Hindustan have collected 16 points from six matches to top the group while Frontiers Club have not yet opened their account after six matches. Frontiers play their last match against Delhi Police.
