Dhumal: HP will go Gujarat way
Mandi, December 23 Addressing public meetings at Aut, Balichowki, Pandoh and Sunder Nagar here today, Mr Dhumal said the BJP would expose the Congress and highlight the achievements and works carried out by its government in less than five years as compared with the Congress’ 45-year rule in the state. He said the Congress only talked about doing things, but the BJP believed in doing them. He said the BJP government was concerned about the uplift of the common man. He said development would be the main poll plank of the BJP and during the ‘vishwas yatra’, people would be informed about the unparalleled development carried out by his government in the state. Mr Dhumal flayed the Congress for claiming that the Gujarat results would not have any impact on Himachal Assembly elections and pointed out that these very leaders had earlier been harping on the view that the BJP would be finished after its defeat in Gujarat. Referring to the Gujarat poll and the sweeping victory of the BJP, he said the Congress was perturbed over the response the BJP was receiving during the ‘vishwas yatra’ and this would prove a ‘vinash yatra’ for the Congress in the ensuing Assembly elections. He announced the creation of the post of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Development, shortly at Sunder Nagar besides Sarkaghat in response to the mounting pressure of the Sunder Nagar area and party workers. Mr Roop Singh Thakur, Forest Minister, Mr Maheshwar Singh MP, Mr Parkash Chaudhary, Minister of state for Rural Development, and Mr Ramesh Sharma, Vice-Chairman, HP Agro Industries Corporation, also spoke.
