500 receive free medical treatment at camp Gurgaon, December 13 More than 500 patients from neighbouring villages and slums were examined and given medicines free. Tests like ECG, blood sugar, Pap smear etc were also conducted. A few women patients with serious abdominal and uterus troubles requiring early surgery were identified. Sukarua has undertaken the responsibility to get these surgeries done for the patients free of cost. The medical camp was followed by a workshop on ‘Asthma and Allergies’. Dr Israni, Dr Mukesh Gupta, Dr Bhatnagar and Dr Vishal Grover conducted the workshop. It was suggested that asthma is curable and all that the patient requires is to always remain in touch with their family physicians. It is caused by allergens like house dust and mites. Use of cosmetics like body lotions, perfumes, body deodorants, hair dyes containing harmful chemicals should be kept at a minimum, it was suggested. |
Delhi Police score easy victory over B B Stars New Delhi, December 13 The highlight of this match was a fine hat-trick scored by the striker of Delhi Police, Mahesh Bisht, second of the league. Delhi Police earned three points from its first match while B.B. Stars tested their third successive defeat to drew blank. At lemon break, both teams were tied up 1-1. Delhi Police’s inside-left Gautam Gimiaray put his side 1-0 ahead in 12th minute while B B Stars equalised 1-1 through mid-fielder Arjun Pandit who converted a penalty-kick awarded in 37th minute, following handling of ball by Delhi Police defender inside the box. After changing ends, Delhi Police striker Mahesh Bisht performed a hit- trick during 34th, 64th and 70th minute of the game to complete the tally 4-1. Later, in another Group-A match, Nivia-Mughals Sports Club were held to a goalless draw by New Delhi Heroes to share one point each in a equally exchanged match. Both teams got goal scoring opportunities but forwards wasted them. Mughals have collected 5 points from three matches while New Delhi Heroes have 7 points from three matches. Shooting Ball Championship from Jan 11 Sonepat, December 13 Mr Lekh Raj Batra, secretary of the association, told mediapersons here that teams from all the districts of Haryana would take part in it. He also disclosed that selections for the Haryana state senior and junior teams for the forthcoming national championship will be made in this meet. He said that the national championship of shooting ball will be held next month at Nayab Girls Degree College, Amroha (UP). |
Vigilance panel told to check misuse of funds Jhajjar: Mr R. R. Banswal, Commissioner, Rohtak division, called upon the members of vigilance and inspection committee to check the misuse of government funds sanctioned for carrying out development activities in the villages. The Commissioner was addressing a meeting of the committee here on Thursday. He also directed the district officials to implement the schemes sponsored by the Rural Development Ministry, Government of India.
