Salman poaching case
Jodhpur, December 6
Yet another witness has turned hostile here in the poaching case involving cine star Salman Khan taking to four the number of witnesses who have gone back on their recorded statements on the four-year-old incident. Prosecution witness Gani Khan denied in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Narsingh Das Vyas yesterday that he had made any statement before the police regarding the engagement of a Gypsy vehicle used in the crime and subsequently seized by the Forest Department. Temple set ablaze
Pondicherry, December 6
A temple at Jaya Nagar near here was allegedly torched following rivalry between two groups over worshipping rights and one person was arrested in this connection, the police said today. The Karumari Amman temple, which is housed in a thatched shed, was gutted yesterday, they said. A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with arson, the police said. PTI

Fire in train
Bardhaman, December 6
A minor fire broke out under a compartment of the UP Gangasagar Express creating panic among the passengers, Railway sources said on Friday. The incident took place between Paraj and Mankad stations at around 7 pm on Thursday. PTI

Rocket attacks
Multan, December 6
Assailants fired three rockets at Pakistan’s largest gas pipeline network but the explosions failed to hit target, officials said today. The rockets were fired before dawn yesterday from mountains overlooking the pipeline near Dera Bugti in Baluchistan province, 650 km southwest of the capital Islamabad. “The pipeline remained safe and no damage occurred,” an official from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines said.
