Divali in Sacred Heart

Ludhiana, November 2
Various competitions were organised for celebrating Divali at Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar.

A rangoli contest on the theme, Divali, was held. Students used colours, flowers, rice, grains, saw dust, sparkles, mirrors and ‘diyas’ to create rangolis.

In the bulletin board competition, the students from Nursery to class XII participated.

The Principal, Sister Sobel, conducted a special Divali assembly comprising a hymn, a speech and a poem. Ms Reeta Gupta, activity in charge, supervised the programme.

The overall trophy was bagged by Tagore House. Gandhi House and Nehru House were placed at second and third positions, respectively.

Trials for Ms World Punjaban contest

Ludhiana, November 2
The first trials for the Ms World Punjaban contest were held in the Ramgarhia College for Girls here yesterday. The response was excellent. About 125 contestants from different parts of Punjab, Haryana had come to participate in the trials. Their interviews were held and screening was done.

The chairman of the Sabhyacharak Sath, Punjab, said their organisation had been organising such contests for the past one decade. This would be the 7th Ms World Punjaban competition.

The second session of screening and interviews would be held in Punjabi Bhavan on November 6.
