State basketball meet: The 48th Annual State Basketball Meet was inaugurated by Ms Iqbal Kaur, District Education Officer, Fatehgarh Sahib, on Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) here on Wednesday. Twentyseven teams participated in the meet.

In today’s competitions at Arya Senior Secondary School Ground, the first match was between Amritsar and Sangrur, in which Amritsar beat Sangrur. Bathinda was declared winner while Jalandhar was absent. Similarly, Ferozepore was the winner while Mansa was absent. Muktsar secured 29 points against Ludhiana.

Other results: Boys — In the second ground, Gurdaspur district secured 56, Ludhiana 37, Mansa 46 and Hoshiarpur 6.
