Work permit of Abu Salem cancelled
New Delhi, October 7
The Portuguese authorities have cancelled the work permits of underworld don Abu Salem and his associate, Monica Bedi, sources said here tonight. The Portuguese Government has been cooperating with India. Meanwhile, a three-member CBI team arrived here from Portugal where they had gone to seek the deportation of Abu Salem. PTI

Shooting rampage
Teheran, October 7
Seven persons have been killed and five others wounded in a shooting rampage in central Iran sparked off by a noise complaint, Jomhuri-Eslami newspaper reported today. The paper said Jamshid Soleimani pulled out his hunting rifle when his neighbour, accompanied by two police officers, appeared at his door in the town of Mahalat to complain over noise. AFP
